The Meandering Thread: The Work of Enid Epstein Mark 54
"The Meandering Thread" is a retrospective exhibition of the work of Enid Mark, presented in her memory and on the occasion of the class of 1954s 55th reunion from Smith College in May 2009. Enid created prints and limited edition artist books at her own ELM Press for more than 25 years, leaving one book unfinished upon her death in September 2008. Many of her books include contemporary poetry by women, and all feature her own illustrations. She collaborated with many other book artists and often explored the theme of fabric and interweaving threads. Renaissance Center Theater Company Broadcasts of The Henriad
Bloody betrayals! Bawdy banter! And don't forget the booze! This is not your typical history lesson!

The Renaissance Center Theater Company and WMUA are proud to present The Henriad, William Shakespeare's epic series of plays, broadcast on radio for the first time. A thrilling depiction of the rise and fall of kings and kingdoms, The Henriad is Shakespeare at his finest.

The series will air on four successive Saturdays, from May 23 to June 13. Each broadcast will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST.

There are three ways to listen:
1. If you live in the Connecticut River Valley, tune in to WMUA 91.1 FM during the scheduled broadcast.
2. Stream the simulcast online at http://www.wmua.org/listen.php
3. Purchase a CD or download of The Henriad online. More details to come.

Proceeds will benefit the Renaissance Center's project to build a reproduction of a Tudor-era great hall, which will be used as a performance space.

The broadcast schedule is as follows:
May 23: Richard II
The arrogant King Richard banishes his ambitious cousin, Henry Bolingbroke, from England. When Richard's extravagant ways anger his nobles, they call on Bolingbroke to return from exile and seize the crown.

May 30: Henry IV, Part One
Several years later, Bolingbroke, now king, is betrayed by the friends who brought him to power. To crush the rebellion, the king must turn to his son Hal, who spends his days in a London tavern with the libertine Falstaff. The play culminates in the Battle of Shrewsbury, where Hal faces the rebel leader, Hotspur, in single combat.

June 6: Henry IV, Part Two
In the aftermath of the Battle of Shrewsbury, the country is beset by confusion and trickery. While the armies regroup, the king falls ill and foresees chaos for his realm.

June 13: Henry V
Having succeeded his father as king, Hal declares war on France. In the series' thrilling and controversial conclusion, King Henry V rallies his outnumbered troops to fight the mighty French at the Battle of Agincourt.

The cast includes veteran actors and radio personalities, such as Walter Carroll and Chris Rohmann, from around the Valley. 'The Henriad' is directed by Matteo Pangallo. Lucinda Kidder is the producer, and sound design is provided by Tom Shread.

The Renaissance Center Theater Company is the performance arm of the Massachusetts Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies.
